Regional Director of Therapy (Therapy Resource) – Full Time- Austin Texas Metro Area
 
About the Opportunity
Ensign Services, Inc. (ESI) is seeking an energetic and dynamic Therapy Resource with at least three years’ experience in the skilled nursing facility environment to assist in supporting our Austin, TX metro area operations. As a Therapy Resource, you will provide clinical and operational support, continuing education and staff development, as well as assist in building our unique organizational culture and facility-based decision making.  This is a challenging job but amazingly rewarding and offers unlimited opportunity to use your clinical expertise, operational knowledge and creativity to build something great. 
 
This position can be held by a Physical, Occupational or Speech therapist and offers a unique opportunity to help build and improve our in-house therapy programs by working closely with our facility rehab directors. Duties:
  • Implements and monitors the provision of facility Rehab policy and procedures
  • Supervises rehab staff and ensures effective rehab staff orientation, training and ongoing competency
  • Coordinates rehab admissions and distribution of caseload
  • Assists in the case management/tracking of Medicare A rehab cases under the PDPM  system
  • Recruits rehab staff
  • Manages and analyzes department metrics including accurate billing
  • Ensures that rehab department is compliant with all regulatory issues. This includes assurance that department records are completed and maintained, such as medical record documentation, reimbursement denials management and other survey compliance requirements.
  • Maintains relationships with hospital therapists, physicians and other key community members
  • Provides direct patient treatment
Qualifications:
Licensed Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Director of Rehab required
Supervisory and/or administrative experience in long term care rehabilitation preferred
Knowledge of Medicare PDPM and ability to manage a variety of payors effectively
Strong organizational and leadership skills

Strong writing skills required to write and edit policies and procedures, compliance reports, and other communications 
Works well independently in a home office environment on long term projects and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
An engaging and informative teacher for regular training of facility personnel 
Possesses and conveys high degree of credibility and integrity 
A desire to constantly improve in-house therapy systems and organizational excellence
Understands and accepts the unpredictable nature and needs of the compliance resource function in a large organization
Exhibits analytical skills and an understanding of operational processes
 
Additional Information
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Schedule: Typically business hours but may vary depending on workload and travel needs – 40 hrs/week
Location: Based out of home office and regularly travels (80% travel) to assigned facilities; must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Austin metro area before start;
